Whether your character is focused on doing tremendous damage with powerful attacks or you prefer dual-wielding fast blades, weapons are an essential component of almost every character built in Elden Ring. They are the main focus for anyone aiming to traverse the Lands Between with the fewest number of deaths possible, but they are not all created equal. Players can always change their points after conquering Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, even though the weapons they can employ will depend on how many points they invest in each Attribute.
We’ve produced a list of the best weapons in Elden Ring for players who desire a weapon for the long term or want to experiment with different battle styles. Each category on this list has one or two different types of weaponry. However, not all of the game’s weapon categories will be represented.
We also considered the time in Elden Ring when players could acquire these weapons. For instance, the Sacred Relic Sword is an excellent weapon that can only be obtained by fighting the game’s final monster. Elden Ring won’t let users utilize that weapon if they choose not to complete Journey 2 in New Game Plus. Before the big boss battle, several of the guns on this list will be usable.
Favorite Straight Sword
Sword of Flame and Night
Although the From Software team nerfed this weapon, it still has a lot of Strength for Strength/Dexterity or Intelligence/Faith setups. The Sword of Night and Flame’s pre-equipped Ash of War, Night-and-Flame Stance, makes it so potent. This ash can instantly wipe out all of the adversaries nearby. Players also benefit from the straight sword’s ability to deal physical, magical, and fire damage. Though its potency had decreased from when the game began, players should still try the Sword of Night and Flame.
The straight sword can be located in Carian Manor by heading to the Manor Upper-Level Site of Grace and descending to a ground-floor room.
Top katanas
There are a few distinct Katana variations that players should be aware of. Samurai characters can use the Uchigatana for a significant chunk of the game, although even they should switch it out for one of two options.
Moonveil
This is the identical Katana that swept through the neighborhood when Elden Ring was first made public. Players quickly identified the Moonveil Katana as maybe the most potent blood-loss tool in the game. The Moonveil has the devastating Transient Moonlight Ash of War and the blood-loss passive effect. This ash releases light after a player completes a lamp or powerful attack. This light can then hit foes once, knocking them out cold. The Moonveil Katana is a dual threat for various builds because it does physical and magical damage.
By slaying the Magma Wyrm in Caelid at Gael Tunnel, players can loot the Moonveil.

Mountains of Blood
We chose the Rivers of Blood for a few reasons, even though some players would argue that the Hand of Melania is the finest alternative Katana. To begin with, the Rivers of Blood lacks the Hand of Melania’s strict Dexterity requirements (48). Instead, only 12 Strength, 18 Dexterity, and 20 Arcane are required of the participants. Moreover, the Ash of War in Corpse Piler is pre-equipped in the Rivers of Blood, which may have more excellent overall scaling. This ash causes foes to lose a lot of blood while also dealing significant damage.
To access the Rivers of Blood, players must fight Bloody Finger Okina at the Church of Repose on the Mountaintops of the Giants.
Excellent words
Although Elden Ring has only one greatsword that is unquestionably the greatest in its class, we’ll be including two just in case players’ builds need to fit the bill.
Big Dark Moon Sword
The Dark Moon Greatsword, another renowned Elden Ring weapon, is regarded as the best Intelligence weapon in the Lands Between. Players might assume the title would belong to staff; however, the Dark Moon Greatsword has a vast magic damage capacity. The sword’s intelligence scaling is mostly to blame for this. One of the greatest Ashes of War is included with the Dark Moon Greatsword, called Moonlight Greatsword, which increases the potency of magic attacks and coats the sword in ice so that it deals damage when players strike an opponent with a charged assault. However, certain players might have to respect to wield this specific greatsword because it takes 38 intelligence to utilize.
Once Ranni’s quest line has been completed, players can loot the Dark Moon Greatsword.
Blade of Blasphemy
The Dark Moon Greatsword has stat requirements. However, the Blasphemous Blade lacks those requirements while being far less potent. To use this weapon, only 22 Strength, 15 Dexterity, and 21 Faith are required from players. In addition to healing the player, with 4% of maximum HP plus an additional 40 HP after each enemy is defeated, this greatsword deals other fire damage. In addition to causing fire damage, the blade’s Ash of War, Taker’s Flames, increases this healing bonus.
Once Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, has been defeated and his Remembrance has been claimed, players can use Finger Reader Enia to unlock the Blasphemous Blade.

greatest curved sword
In Elden Ring, there are several Curved Greatswords that players can make excellent use of, but we’re going to focus on one in particular that can help players finish the game.
Fang of the Bloodhound
Bloodhound’s Fang is undoubtedly the best early-game weapon in all of Elden Ring. If they are competent enough, players can loot it within a few hours of the game, which might be the weapon they use to beat the boss. It doesn’t have absurd stat requirements and scales beautifully with Strength and Dexterity. Players that climb properly can deal more than 600 damage to each Fang hit. The Bloodhound’s Finesse Ash of War on the blade allows users to dodge an attacker while striking twice. The Bloodhound Fang is the best Curved Greatsword with its low requirements, unlock points and general scaling.
Players can unlock the Bloodhound Knight Darriwil at the Forlorn Hound Evergaol in Limgrave by defeating the Bloodhound’s Fang.
Optimal Colossal Swords
Players can’t go wrong with the two options for the most excellent Colossal Sword in Elden Ring.
Greatsword with Grafted Blade
The Grafted Blade Greatsword has a high stat requirement of 40 and is a very potent Strength-build weapon. However, if they succeed in getting there, gamers can take down foes in just one or two hits. This enormous blade has deadly Ash of War, Oath of Vengeance, and significant physical damage that scales well with Strength. Along with enhancing poise, this ash grants the player a 30-second boost to all of their Attributes. If players have 40 points in Strength, there may not be a better weapon to utilize in brutal boss fights.
After taking down Leonine Misbegotten at Castle Morne in the Weeping Peninsula, players can loot the Grafted Blade Greatsword.
Greatsword of Starscourge
By slaying the demigods Starscourge Radahn and Maliketh, The Black Blade, players in Elden Ring can win two enormous swords. We’re going with the Starscourge Greatsword, even though Maliketh’s Blade undoubtedly deserves a slot on this list due to its earlier unlock point in Elden Ring. Players should immediately use the weapons when they defeat Maliketh because the stats on them aren’t sufficiently different.
The Starscourge Greatsword adds magic damage to its substantial physical damage output. Additionally, it has a dual-wielding option, which provides players with a different move set and increases the damage done with each swing. Starkiller Cry, the Ash of War, excels in eliminating adversaries. Starkiller Cry can be used twice: once to draw foes in and once to drive both swords into the ground while unleashing a gravity explosion.
Optimal Colossal Weapon
Elden Ring has one enormous weapon that outperforms all of the others. You can see it below. Gaza’s Wheel, however, deserves special notice for its excellent Ash of War, which enables players to wield it like a lawnmower to destroy foes.
Beast Jaw of Fallingstar
The only enormous weapon in Elden Ring that deals more than just physical damage is the Fallingstar Beast Jaw. Although it doesn’t require a high Intelligence stat, this “sword” also deals magic damage (20). It does, of course, need high Strength, 34, but for builds that emphasize Strength, that should be fine. The Fallingstar Beast Jaw has a great Ash of War, Gravity Bolt, and scales with Strength and Dexterity. Players that use this ash can send down a lightning bolt that damages foes physically, magically, and mentally.
Players can get this weapon by slaying the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast on Mount Gelmir.
Top Dagger
Reduvia
Reduvia, a different early-game weapon in Elden Ring, is unquestionably the best dagger a player may use in the Lands Between. It will be challenging for dexterity builds to find a weapon that scales better with the Attribute. In addition to Reduvia Blood Blood, a fantastic Ash of War, Reduvia also possesses the blood-loss passive effect. Players may use this ash quickly and repeatedly, enabling them to slash at adversaries from a greater distance.
By defeating Bloody Finger Nerijus close to the Murkwater Catacombs in Limgrave, players can unlock Reduvia.
Top Bow
Although the bow isn’t the best option, players who choose a ranged build can still select from several reliable weapons.
Power Bow
The Pulley Bow is arguably Elden Ring’s most versatile bow. It has the best range of any bump in the game and provides respectable physical damage for a normal bow. It scales with both Strength and Dexterity. Therefore its level requirements are shallow. Players can use Mighty Shot, an Ash of War, to hit adversaries farther away and deal more damage to them. It’s arguably the best option in the bow/crossbow category while not being the most intriguing.
By climbing to the top of a siege tower near the Mt. Gelmir campground, to the north of Gelmir Hero’s Cave, players can unlock the Pulley Bow.
Top Axe
Snowdrift Hatchet
In Elden Ring, there aren’t many axes to choose from, but players quickly discovered that the Icerind Hatchet is one of the most effective tools. The Icewind Axe was eventually nerfed by the devs, although as of mid-April 2022, it is still valid. The Ash of War, Hoarfrost Stomp of the Icerind Hatchet, gives it its Strength. The ability to entirely halt enemy attacks made this gadget the ultimate tool for speedrunners. Players will stomp the ground after using this ability to stun adversaries with ice damage and take away significant portions of HP. Additionally, the hatchet causes passive frost damage.
In the chest of a collapsed structure in Liurnia of the Lakes’ Temple Quarter, players can discover the Icerind Axe.
best personnel
Only magicians may use the last category of weapons on this list. There is numerous staff in Elden Ring, but one stands out.
Astrological Staff
The Meteorite Staff is unquestionably the finest option for sorcerers because of its absurd scaling and overall stats. It increases the Strength of gravity spells by 30% when having an “S” scale grade for intelligence. As a result, bits like Rock Sling and Meteorite of Astel become even more potent. Players can discover the Meteorite Staff very early and outfit it with any Ash of War they choose, strengthening the case. The staff’s only drawback is that it cannot be upgraded. Thus gamers may eventually need to find another team to take its place, such as the one seen below.
Players can loot the meteorite staff at the Street of Sage Ruins, next to the Sellia Crystal Tunnel in Camelid.
Regal Scepter of Caria
Players must wield the Carian Regal Scepter to advance beyond the Meteorite Staff. Although this staff has the highest Intelligence requirement (60), it has a high damage output and scales well with Sorcery and Intelligence. While the Carian Regal Scepter comes with the Spinning Weapon Ash of War, which enables users to spin the staff in front of them to deal with approaching enemies, Lusat’s Flintstone Staff deals more damage. Based on the player’s Intelligence/Sorcery, this deals magic damage. Utilizing the wand will also help full moon sorceries.
Players can obtain the Carian Regal Scepter by defeating Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, and giving her Remembrance to Finger Reader Enia.
